Only 20 minutes drive to Lake Mountain Alpine Resort. We always stay here for snow trip to Lake Mountain. Great forest walks on formed tracks so nice and safe, fantastic sculpture park, history museum - Heather is a gem and Lou's shed - is a must to check out, and the eateries on offer are great, will definitely return and stay longer to explore the walks and mtb tracks and the fishing spots.
Marysville is a small town if you want to stay away from a crazy busy city life. It's a quiet gem town. It's a few drive away from neighboring suburb or to some famous tourist nature walkabouts or spots. A magnificent setting for a Jazz festival. Being there in Spring felt very emotional seeing more new growth and renewal. People very friendly. Best of luck with making this festival bigger and better every year. Sadly this town has not done well after the fires.
There are very few places to eat. Dinner choice is limited to two venues both book out so a reservation is a must. The menus at both are good. The Radius Grills menu was excellent but very small with no vegerterian option. Breakfast was lackluster at best. On a positive note the coffee was great.
Marysville is a sweet town in a beautiful location. Not too far from Melbourne, can be done in a day but fun to stay overnight. Vibe hotel is great or try Amelia Cottages or Garden Cottages. Waterfall is a must, if you feel fit walk the river trail to get there.
Lots of Pokemon stops too :D. A magnificent location of grand standing trees and a magical bubbling stream of fresh water with access to wood fire pits to make the camping experience a brilliant one.
And all this a 5 minute walk to the town centre with all the eating, drinking and grocery needs for a civilised trip in the Victorian Alps. The surrounding areas offer grand vistas if views and walk trails. Marysville is the true Phoenix from its experience and shows how a location and people heal. Perfect weekend away in Marysville!
We really enjoyed our stay at Amelina Cottages in the Birch cottage. Walking distance to town, the cottage is beautiful; comfy bed, fireplace, very clean, lots of little touches that make it luxurious. Really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend. Easy walking distance to Marysville township and it is right next to Stevenson river and walking trail. The log cabin was quaint and the cabin was warm on arrival which is so appreciated in the cold climate of Marysville.
It was private, away from the street and had pleasant garden surrounds. Beautiful cottage in lovely bush setting, great location within walking distance to nice pub and cafes.
The wood fire was greatly appreciated! It was great to be greeted by lovely hosts on arrival. Would definitely recommend this cottage and we would always stay here when in Marysville!! Located in the very beautiful Main Street of Marysville. Close to shops, restaurants and picturesque walks.
The hotel is extremely well appointed and easy to move from reception to rooms. Our Woodland Room was light and had a comfortable couch. It was easy to find, the instructions for entry where simple and easy to follow. Everything we needed and more was present, we where delighted with the place. Have recommended it to friends and family. The room was very comfortable and cosy, breakfast served with family atmosphere.
Central location, interesting and touching place, after the fire again. Admire these brave people in Marysville. Nice open spaced room, absolutely loved it. Had all the utensils we needed Super clean Well located Being super cold in Marysville the room stayed a reasonable temperature. Clean, spacious, quiet and comfortable bedding and close to the shops. The hostess Pam was so friendly and kind.
Great host, beautiful house and Marysville a wonderful weekend spot. Bed arrangements suited us family and it was kept clean.
